Summer 2017 Blockbuster: O’neil Cinemas Underway at The Point

Cinema Construction Launches Exciting Retail Streetscape Component

(January 11, 2017; Littleton, MA)–Construction is well underway at the new O’neil Cinemas located at The Point, a 540,000-square-foot retail destination located at the intersection of I-495 (Exit 31) and Route 119 in Littleton, MA. A key component of Sam Park & Co.’s vision for The Point, the cinema is ahead of schedule and on target to open July 2017.

“The cinema embodies our vision for The Point—a fun, exciting destination where people can shop, dine, and connect,” said Sam Park, President, Sam Park & Co. “It sparks The Point’s final and most exciting component: a vibrant retail streetscape overlooking I-495 with lively shops, interactive venues like climbing gyms, and engaging customer amenities.”

Unlike anything the region has experienced, O’neil Cinemas will feature:

  • State-of-the-art, wall-to-wall screens with all-stadium seating, 4K digital projection, all leather seats, and the latest 3D viewing
  • A Grand DLX Auditorium including a 72-foot-wide curved screen, the biggest in the region and one of the largest in the United States
  • A Dolby Atmos 3D sound system will makes movie-goers feel like they’re completely immersed in the onscreen action
  • The Backstage Lounge, a 76-seat restaurant and bar serving a vast array of entrées, and a 20-foot-wide screen for enjoying live entertainment and sporting events

O’neil Cinemas joins Courtyard by Marriott, Market Basket, Emerson Hospital, The Paper Store, Starbucks, Tavern in the Square, Great Road Kitchen, Party City, DCU, AT&T, Anthony’s Coal Fired Pizza, TITLE Boxing Club, Masala Bay Indian Kitchen, Taka Sushi & Japanese Steak House, and many others.

The Point is the first mixed-use retail destination of its kind in Boston’s Metro Northwest. Located at the intersection of I-495 (Exit 31) and Route 119 in Littleton, the $110 million project is the region’s only open-air center that combines shops, restaurants, grocery, hotel, and entertainment. The 540,000 square foot center features O’neil Cinemas, Market Basket, Courtyard by Marriott, The Paper Store, Starbucks, Tavern in the Square and several others. The Point is situated in the heart of the I-495 “Think Belt” and serves more than 250,000 high-tech workers at nearby technology companies such as IBM, Red Hat, Juniper Networks, and Cisco.
